Description

A more robust chisel than the typical oire-nomi. Meant to be struck with a hammer or mallet. Unlike the standard oire-nomi where occasional blows from the hammer are used. The chisel was forged to take heavy blows, but in a fairly compact size. This robust chisel is double the weight of a stand chisel the same width while only a couple inches longer.

Made from laminated Steel, were the cutting edge is hard high carbon steel, laminated onto a softer body. They have the typical hallow ground back of the plane. These planes are constructed with the hybrid socket and tang construction, were the tang extends into the handle.
