Our Hoop Setting Tool is the easiest method for setting the top hoop on your Japanese chisels. After preparing the handle per our instructions, simply set the end of the chisel cross grain on a piece of softwood, place the Hoop Setting Tool over the hoop and tap with a hammer until the hoop has been set to the desired depth. Setting Tool is made of heavy cast iron. Instructions are included.
