How To Use:

Preparation:

• Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any existing finishes, wax, oil, or grease. Sand thoroughly and remove any dust.

Application:

1. Shake the tin well before use.
2. If using more than one tin, mix the tins together to ensure a consistent colour.
3. Apply a liberal coat of Spirit Wood Dye with a brush or cloth, allowing the dye to penetrate the wood.
4. Remove excess dye with a clean cotton cloth before it dries to ensure an even finish.
5. Once dry, you can finish the surface with varnish, wax, or oil to provide additional protection.

Advice:

• A second coat is not needed and may lift the first coat.
• Avoid mixing spirit-based dyes with water-based dyes.
• Spirit Wood Dye is not compatible with French polishes or shellac-based sealers. Always test the products first for compatibility.
• Different wood types produce different results. Test the dye on a spare surface to check the final outcome.
• After use, clean tools with methylated spirit and dispose of any residues and solvents responsibly.
