Liberon Van Dyck Crystals are a traditional, natural water-based wood dye made from walnut husks. These crystals are perfect for colouring oak, mahogany, and walnut, offering a range of shades from light brown to dark brown, depending on the dilution strength. The intensity of the colour can be adjusted by altering the concentration of the solution. How To Use:

Preparation:

• Dissolve the Van Dyck Crystals in hot water (about 100g to 1L of water).
• Test the colour on a spare piece of wood. Darken the colour by adding more crystals or lighten by adding more water.
• For different shades, you can also add Concentrated Water Based Dyes or mix with Palette Wood Dyes or water-based varnishes.

Application:

1. Ensure the surface is bare, dry, and free from dust.
2. Apply the solution with a brush or sponge, wiping off any excess with a cloth.
3. Allow the surface to dry for at least 12 hours, then lightly rub down with abrasive paper (240 or 320 grit) to smooth the surface.

Precautions:

• When using a water-based varnish over the stain, take extra care with the first coat, as over-brushing may lift out the colour.
• Always test the product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area to check for colour, compatibility, and the final result.
