Our Business. Like all good businesses, Jackal Tree was born out of necessity. Looking for alternative furniture to the mainstream cheap (and not so cheap) imports found in most retailers, and unable to afford the high end wooden furniture, Ant and Lisa decided to make their own. Using real wood, basic designs and great craftmanship – real furniture for real people. Jackal Tree can undertake all manor of projects from coffee tables and bookshelves, to custom made outdoor furniture and desks. We can also throw in some cool kids furniture with themed beds and desks being part of our range.

Our Story. Lifes moments and memories are often experienced around a beautiful table and so it was with Ant and Lisa Dyboll. A husband and wife team who decided one night around the dinner table to quit their corporate jobs, and to take a leap of faith and make and create beautiful, functional and affordable wooden furniture.
Ant has always had a first love for wood and would spend many long hours working it, designing with it and indulging in his favourite hobby – watching videos on what you can do with it. It was inevitable that manufacturing furniture would be in his future and his creative spirit has allowed him to conceive and make some truly beautiful pieces over the years. His passion is to encourage people to move away from mass marketed cheap imports, and to embrace local, artisanal woodwork that provides local furniture solutions.
Lisa comes from a marketing and sales background and has been involved in the tourism industry for many years. It was on the operational side of running a lodge in Africa that she came to love the simplicity of wooden furniture, and the incredible trees that go with the story. She also understands the versatility of wooden furniture design and how clever pieces can change a room, or make an amazing statement. Lisa is also on a mission to grow the business to a level that Jackal Tree can begin an apprentice programme to upskill local employees in the furniture sector.
