Everything connects to our smart devices nowadays, no reason for our tools to be any different. 

Perhaps the first power tools to have the ability to connect to our smartphones were laser measuring tools. These devices would connect to your laser measures to increase visibility in the form of camera functions as well as a way to store the bulk of measurements on your laser measuring device which can help to form floor plans and visualize building plans. Bosch has now taken this a step further with its connectivity platform which allows the user to have a new level of control over their power tools.

Bosch GCY42 Bluetooth® Tool Module

The Bosch GCY42 Bluetooth® Tool Module allows the user to connect to next-gen tool control. The module can be quickly installed into a variety of Bosch “connected-ready” tools to provide Bluetooth® connectivity to mobile devices. Bosch connected-ready tools include impact drivers, drill/drivers, hammer drill/drivers, grinders, rotary hammers, lights, circular saws, track saws, and chargers.

The tool module links to the free Bosch Toolbox mobile app, so users can customize their tools, check tool and battery statuses, receive alerts about a tool issue, and more. The enhanced control provided by the connectivity enables users to be more productive. The module offers up to a 100 Ft. connectivity range.
