Rustins Teak Oil is specially formulated to offer a durable, attractive finish for bare wood, including teak and cedar. This blend of vegetable oils, resins, and driers penetrates deeply to seal and protect the wood, bringing out its natural beauty with a low gloss sheen. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, Rustins Teak Oil is ideal for use on wooden furniture, doors, joinery, and garden furniture. It is food-safe, making it perfect for use in areas such as kitchens and dining rooms. The oil is easy to apply, fast-drying, and easy to maintain, offering long-lasting protection to enhance the natural open-grained finish of the wood.

Specifications:

Type: A blend of oils (including Tung oil), resins, and driers formulated for a durable finish
Intended Use: For all interior and exterior bare wood, doors, joinery, garden, and indoor furniture

Preparation: Ensure the wood is clean, smooth, dry, and free from wax, dust, and contaminants
Application: Apply liberally with a clean rag or brush, wiping off surplus oil after a few minutes
Coats: Requires 3 coats for bare wood; additional coats may be needed for exterior wood
Drying Time: 4-6 hours, depending on temperature and humidity
Re-coating Time: A minimum of 4-6 hours, depending on temperature and humidity
Application Temperature: Ideally between 15-25°C (59-77°F); avoid applying below 10°C (50°F) or in rainy conditions
Coverage: Approximately 14 sq.m per litre, 1 coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood
Maintenance: Periodic re-oiling required; annually for outdoor use
Compatibility: Compatible with Rustins Wood Dye, Grainfiller, Woodfiller, and Polyurethane Varnish
Settlement: Shake well before use
Shelf-life/Storage: Long shelf life if stored in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed container
Hazards: Flammable; avoid contact with eyes and skin; use in well-ventilated areas
Clean-Up: Clean brushes with white spirit or Rustins Brush Cleaner; for dried-on brushes, use Rustins Brush Restorer
