This WoodRiver? 300 Series Stainless Steel Bottle Stopper may be a little more expensive than the traditional chrome or black titanium plated stoppers, but it is well worth the extra expense. Designed to last a lifetime, the stopper is 100% solid stainless steel with no plating at all, so it is corrosion resistant and will not flake or pit like some others on the market. Materials used are food- and pharmaceutical industry-safe, so cross contamination will not be an issue. In addition, this kit includes a solid food grade silicone insert that will fit securely in any bottle. Turning kit requires a wooden or man-made blank, 11/32″ bit, counter sindk bit, and mandrel, all sold separately. After drilling the 11/32″ pilot hole it will be necessary to bore a slight countersink to allow the blank to thread snug and flush to the base of the stopper.
