Description

One of the finer planes offered by Master Plane Maker Akio Uozumi. The Super Blue Steel has a very rich chemical composition with much more carbon, chromium and tungsten than #1 blue steel. It is very difficult to make, requiring years of experience to master the tempering and quenching process. The result is the a very durable blade with great cutting performance and edge retention. The blade also has a mokume finish. Almost appearing as wood grain in the blade.

The 55mm blade is housed at 40? in a Japanese White Oak body.
