Rustins Original Danish Oil is a specially formulated blend of oils, resins, and driers designed to produce an attractive, durable satin finish on wooden surfaces. This oil is ideal for use on all types of wood, bringing out the natural grain and providing a soft, low lustre finish. Unlike Teak Oil, which provides a glossy finish, Rustins Danish Oil creates a subtle, natural sheen. The product is easy to apply with a wipe-on method and is perfect for wooden furniture, doors, window frames, and other interior and exterior woodwork. Rustins Danish Oil complies with both the Articles in Contact with Food Regulations and the Toys (Safety) Regulations 1995 (BS EN71 Part 3). It is primarily for interior use but can also be applied as a primer-sealer on exterior wood, requiring periodic maintenance.

Preparation: Ensure wood is clean, smooth, dry, and free of contaminants. Use Rustins Surface Cleaner for oily timbers like Teak and Iroko.
Application: Apply liberally with a clean rag or brush, wipe off excess after a few minutes. Apply 3 coats to bare wood for best results.
Drying Time: 4-6 hours depending on temperature and humidity
Re-coating Time: Recoat once the previous layer is dry
Coverage: Approximately 14 sq.m per litre per coat depending on wood absorbency
Application Temp.: Ideally 15-25°C, avoid applying below 5°C
Maintenance: Periodic re-oiling required. Clean surfaces before re-oiling with White Spirit
Compatibility: Compatible with Rustins Wood Dye and Polyurethane Varnish
Settlement: Stir well before use to prevent gloss formation
Shelf-life/Storage: Can be stored for years in a tightly closed container in cool, dry conditions
Hazards: Flammable, avoid contact with eyes and skin, use in well-ventilated areas. Follow safety guidelines and dispose of used rags properly
Clean-Up: Clean brushes with White Spirit or Rustins Brush Cleaner when wet. Dried spills can be removed with Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Remover
