Description
Crown?s Nosing Plane has a slight concave sole and was originally designed to put the nose on stair treads. It can be used like the Forstaff for rounding spindles or round edges to any board. It is made from seasoned hard and figured maple with a long iron for years of service. Body measures approximately 6″ long x 13/4″ wide and weighs 7.6 oz. The 1-1/4″- wide blade is shaped to match the sole and is A2 steel hardened to Rc60-62, ground to a 22-1/2? bevel, and set in the plane at a 45? angle with the bevel down. Each blade is hand fitted to each plane.
