Hock Handmade Plane Irons are made in a small metalworking cottage-industry located in the heart of California’s Mendocino County’s woodworking enclave. These irons are hand crafted to exacting specifications to satisfy the needs of the most discriminating professional. Handmade and 17% thicker than standard blades, allowing closer throat-opening settings, finer shavings, and reduced chatter. High-carbon (.95%) tool steel and hardened to Rc62, they hold a razor-sharp edge. Replacement Irons – these blades offer a substantial improvement over the inferior “chrome-vanadium” irons that come with most contemporary tools.
