Our 1¼˝ Crank Neck Paring Chisel is fashioned for trimming dado, rebate and plough cuts. They are also the chisel of choice for trimming the ends of plugs and wooden nails. The blades have a thin, triangular shape, which offers minimal friction when used in a tight cut, such as cleaning-up the bottom of a sliding dovetail. The blade is a hand-forged lamination of “white” steel and wrought iron. Each blade is individually tempered to Rockwell c65? to ensure a razor sharp edge. The “push” style handle is hand-turned from the best quality Akagashi (Japanese Red Oak). Each chisel is sent well sharpened with instructions for maintaining this edge. The overall length is 13˝ and the blade length is 3¼˝.
