Description
The 3/4˝ blade is evenly bent to about a 1˝ diameter. It is most useful for hollowing out spoon, bowls, totem poles and other work of this nature. Bent knives are versatile Northwest Coast Native American carving tools. The curved blades are sharpened on both sides. This allows for carving in both directions – pushing and pulling – so that as the grain changes, you do not have to turn the piece. The large comfortable handles are usually held palm up, giving full use of the wrist for good leverage and control. They are ideal for hollowing out spoons, bowls, masks, decoys, carousel horses, totem poles, wood doors, and hand carved furniture. They are also excellent for smoothing, texturing, and fitting curved surfaces in boat work. Overall length 6¾˝.
