Rustins Quick Dry Worktop Oil is a unique, water-borne oil formulated with natural plant oils derived from sustainable sources. This eco-conscious solution penetrates deeply into the wood, providing a hard, durable, and water-resistant seal that enhances the natural beauty of the timber. Designed for interior hardwood and kitchen worktops, this oil is safe for use on food-contact surfaces and delivers a low-odour, natural finish without leaving a surface film prone to scratching or chipping. With each litre covering approximately 13 square metres, it is suitable for a variety of solid wood surfaces, including kitchen worktops, dining tables, and bedroom dressers.

Specifications:

Special Features: Penetrates wood, forming a hard, durable, and water-resistant seal. Conforms to Plastic Materials and Articles in Contact with Food (England) Regulations 2008
Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, smooth, dry, and free of wax, dust, and contaminants. Wax can be removed with Rustins Surface Cleaner, and old oil finishes should be stripped using Rustins Strypit
Application: Apply liberally with a clean rag or brush. Remove surplus oil after a few minutes for additional coats, but allow the first coat to dry without wiping. Sand between coats if necessary
Coats: Bare wood requires three coats
Drying Time: 2-3 hours depending on temperature and humidity
Re-coating Time: Apply additional coats once the previous coat is dry
Application Temperature: Ideally 15-25°C (59-77°F), not below 10°C (50°F)
Coverage: Approximately 13 m² per litre per coat, depending on wood absorbency
Maintenance: Clean with white spirit, sand lightly, and apply further coats when necessary
Compatibility: Suitable for use over Rustins Wood Dye, Grainfiller, and Woodfiller
Settlement: Shake well before use
Shelf-life/Storage: Many years if stored in original, tightly sealed container in cool, dry conditions
Hazards: Keep out of reach of children. Rinse immediately with water in case of eye contact. Wear protective clothing and gloves. Health & Safety Data Sheet available on request
Clean-Up: Clean brushes with warm water and detergent. Use Rustins Brush Restorer for dried-on oil
