Rustins Wood Bleach Set is a two-pack kit based on stabilised Hydrogen Peroxide, specially designed to remove weather stains and lighten bare wood. It is perfect for preparing natural timber for staining, allowing you to achieve a lighter shade before applying Rustins Wood Dyes. This product helps in rejuvenating wood, making it suitable for various wooden surfaces such as floors, doors, window frames, wardrobes, dressers, sideboards, tables, chairs, and worktops. The bleaching process involves two solutions: solution “A” prepares the wood surface, and solution “B” provides the actual bleaching effect. After use, the wood can be further treated with Rustins Wood Dyes and finished with Rustins varnishes or oils.

Specifications:

Type: Two-pack bleaching kit for wood based on stabilised Hydrogen Peroxide
Intended Use: For use on bare wood to make it white or lighter in colour
Special Features: Removes weather stains and discolourations
Preparation: Surface must be bare, with all varnish, lacquer, or polish removed. Use Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper to remove old finishes
Application: Apply solution “A” to clean, dry wood and leave for 10-20 minutes. Apply solution “B” after solution “A”. Some woods may darken initially when solution “A” is applied
Coats: One coat of “A” followed by a coat of “B”
Drying Time: Leave for a minimum of 2 hours after application of solution “B”
Re-coating Time: If the wood is dark or stained, repeat both solutions after 2 hours
Application Temperature: Do not use in extreme temperatures
Coverage: Approximately 11 m² per set (500 ml x 2), depending on the absorbency of the wood
Maintenance: Not applicable
Compatibility: After bleaching, apply Rustins Wood Dye, followed by Rustins varnishes or oils. For oil-based and polyurethane finishes, wash with acetic acid solution. For Rustins Plastic Coating, wash with a spirits and salts solution
Shelf-life/Storage: Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight
Hazards: Solution “A” is irritant; Solution “B” is corrosive and oxidising. Wear suitable eye/face protection. A full Health & Safety Data Sheet is available on request
Clean-Up: Clean all equipment with water
