As they say; “in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king..” so without any competition that I was able to find in South Africa this product is the best on the market. I was actually quite impressed by how clean a cut it makes, considering the price I think its performs pretty well. There are however 2 reasons why I give it only 3 stars:
    – The box states a cutting range of 3.4 – 25.4mm. With the entire stack and all of the shims I get a maximum width of 22.1 mm . I would be very interested to see how they suggest a 25.4mm width dado should be cut.
    – The 16mm bore on the blades was rough and struggled over my arbor, this was easily cleared up with a bit of sandpaper wrapped around a dowel in the drill press, but really not something an end user should have to do.
Final impression: room for improvement, but not a bad all round product for the price.

Like Jimbob this was the only affordable dado stack that I could find in South Africa. I purchased it in the hope that it would be more precise than the wobble blade that I was using in my table saw for doing box joints. Whilst it sets up easier that using wobble washers, I was disappointed to find that the cuts on the top of the slots are less accurate than I was previously achieving. This seems to be because the radius of the chipper blades are not exactly the same as the outer circular saw blades supplied as part of the set. I guess you get what you pay for …. the box clearly states “made in China” which may explain things.

HI I have Adendorffs 250mm DIY Table Saw with driveBore: 16mm diameterTable Size: 685 x 515mmBlade: 250mm will this work? Won’t be making big box joints biggest will be about 15mm

    • Siphesihle Hato

Good morning Hennie, yes these dado sets would work for those box joints. However, please confirm that the arbor length of your table saw can accommodate a dado stack (ideal arbor length: 35mm)

  2. Ronell van Tonder

Good day. I have the Ryobi 1800w 254mm contractor table saw. Will these blades fit?

    • Siphesihle Hato

Good day @ronell4021gmail-com . Please note that we have been advised by our supplier that unfortunately, the arbor length of the Ryobi Table Saw is too short to accept dado stacks.

  3. mauritz

Siphesihle, Don’t worry I have an old Delta Rockwell saw with 16 mm arbor and it should be long enough. I just have to clean it properly. Thank you for helping. Regards
    Mauritz

    Morning Siphesihle
Thank you for the response. I’m honest I did not took the blade off, have measure the arbor at tread sticking out. I think after having a re-look that the arbor is to short in any case. Which of the table saws here in SA have a long enough 16 mm arbor to use with this blades? Thank you. Mauritz

    • jimbob (verified owner)

I have a Martlet SCL10 and this set fits comfortably on it.

  5. mauritz

Good Morning, Have a Bosch GTS 10 with 16 mm arbor, not sure about length. Will the Dado blade fit or is the arbor too short? Can someone please assist. Thanks . Mauritz

    • jimbob (verified owner)

Im afraid it will not work on the Bosch. The arbor of the model we get in SA is to short, the US version of this saw does have a longer arbor precisely for that reason, but we get the UK/ Euro model which is to short. Apparently you can retro fit the saw with a US arbor but I can imagine it would be worth the cost and effort.

    • Siphesihle Hato

Good morning @mauritz , according to Bosch the GTS 10 has a 30mm bore size. Please advise as to exactly which model you have. Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to give us a call

  6. Riccardo Simonetti

I have a Ryobi 254mm Combination Home Workshop – it has a blade bore size of 16mm with this Dado set work? I am very new to woodworking, is it simple to install?

    • mornem

It’ll work. Your bore size on the blade is the same as this stack (16mm)

    • Siphesihle Hato

Good day @riccardocopierboyz-co-za , an update on this: Please note that we have been advised by our supplier that unfortunately, the arbor length of the Ryobi Table Saw is too short to accept dado stacks.

  7. pjtickner

Hi. I have a Rockwell Deluxe model 10 radial arm saw. A TorkCraft TCP23060AL blade fits this saw.
Will this Dado blade set fit the saw?

    Regards
    Pierre

    • jimbob (verified owner)

As far as I know dados are not recommended for radial arm saws for safety reasons.

    • Siphesihle Hato

Good day @pjtickner , I’m not too sure what the arbor size of your Rockwell machine is but if it has an arbor size of 16mm (5/8″) , this dado set will work.
