I have had one of these for over 15 years. It is without doubt the most useful ‘thing’ i have ever had. As I have moved from place to place it has always been the backbone of the workshop. Its clamping power is awesome and it has held almost everything that I have ever needed to saw. It holds things of all shapes and sizes firmly for drilling, cutting, welding, chopping or whatever. The optional jaws for holding logs are unbeatable while the standard rubber jaw facings are superb although mine have long since been replaced by wooden ones after the originals fell apart. It is easy enough to fold and somewhat awkward to carry and also quite heavy. I last folded mine about 6 years ago so that cannot be termed a negative! I think I paid about R1400 for mine all those years ago when it was relatively more expensive than todays price. I certainly have no regrets on this item, wholeheartedly recommend it. In fact every workshop should have at least one.

Very handy. Strong clamping system and great for cutting down boards or making a table surface to work off.

Just bought one of these from Tools4wood and am so glad I did!
This tool is more versatile and handy than you’d think! It takes up very little space when folded and is easy to set up.
The clamping pressure is unbelievable and you barely have to use any force on the peddle to get it.
Rubber pads on the jaw faces make it easy to clamp things without worry of marking or denting them – I tried clamping unfinished pine (a softwood) in the jaws and it didn’t leave a mark!
The tripod I initially thought was a cut in cost but then quickly realized that a tripod is much more stable than a 4 legged device when using uneven terrain – so you don’t have to worry working outside or on a garage floor that is uneven.
Only reason I took off one star is due to the third leg being slightly difficult to fold and unfold due to its housing being made too small for it and the jaws sliding was a bit rough – but I fixed those both within 5 minutes with a bit of WD40 – then they worked perfectly!
    Conclusion:

    Pros:
    Incredible clamping force
Rubber clamp faces protect work piece
    Versatile applications
    Durable
    Compact when folded
Portable within less than a minute
    Stable even on uneven terrain
    Cons:
May need some fine tuning when you first get it

All in all this is a perfect addition to my shop and will be using it for things other than woodworking as well!

1 question for Triton SJA200 SuperJaws Portable Clamping System

  1. canyflyer

What is the country of manufacture? They used to be made in Australia not sure if they still are?

    • canyflyer (verified owner)

@ Siphesihle, Ah great cause I heard that the new models are made in China and there are many issues with the quality of the Superjaws made there. I will be happy buying this now that I know it is made in Australia

    • Siphesihle Hato

Good day Canyflyer, yes these Triton non-electronic tools are made in Melbourne, Australia. The power tools, however, are made in Taiwan.
