In Detail:
With the Custom Pocket-Hole Plug Cutter, you can use pocket-hole joinery virtually anywhere — even in places that show prominently on your project — by hiding the pocket holes with perfectly matched plugs that you create from your from any wood you desire.
Plus, the Custom Pocket-Hole Plug Cutter allows you to create face grain plugs that that blend in amazingly well, whether the plugs are in line with the grain, or they run across the grain. These face grain plugs are easier to hide than conventional plugs that have visible end-grain.
In addition, the Custom Pocket-Hole Plug Cutter also accepts accessory bits (sold separately) that can cut plugs that fit Kreg Micro-Pocket™ pocket holes, as well as plugs to work with the Kreg Jig® HD — a plug size that’s only possible using the Custom Pocket-Hole Plug Cutter.
The Plug Cutter simply slips into a Kreg Jig® in place of the normal drill guide block, and works with a Kreg® Jig K5, K4, or the older K3 model. That allows you to clamp your plug material in place and drill in the same way that is used for creating pocket holes. To create the plugs, just chuck the plug cutting bit into any drill.
This high-performance bit features a specially designed cutting tip that shears cleanly for a smooth, consistent plug. Fluting reduces heat and friction for better plugs and longer bit life, while a positive stop collar ensures perfect depth every time to produce accurately sized plugs. Once the plugs are drilled, they can easily be cut free using a band saw or hand saw.

Looks like a very nice tool but very expensive, you need to look at the cost.

Yes the price is high but what a product worth every cent, thanks Tools4wood for having it.

The price of plugs are so high (also) and this gives you the exact plug and number of plugs for the job on hand. For the best/perfect result, use a high speed drill (>3500 rpm), let the weight of the drill do the down force into the wood, start the cutting when the drill is at its highest speed, then make the speed slower and slower as you pull back the drill. It must be nearly at standstill when you exit the drill cage. For example my Makita cordless could not do the job the the same as the high speed drill can. You have to use some sort of tape to keep the plugs in place while you cutting the 15 degree cut at the base. I found it very important, otherwise the plugs flew around and can take your eyes of the cutting process. What a tool, thanks Kreg

An excellent tool! It is proving its value every time I use it. I work with exotic woods and none of the commercial plugs match your mix colour timbers like kiaat. Now I cut my own plugs from any of the timbers I use to the grain direction and colour match. Just wish this had come out sooner 😉

Excellent tool. Works well. Agree with Pierre re high speed drill and letting the weight of drill itself be the downward force. Expensive but worth it. Delivery and service faultless as usual.

Very well machined drill bit, excellent quality. As others have said, need to use high speed drill. I use my Festool PDC 18/4 cordless drill @3800rpm and have perfect plugs every time.
NB!! Read the manual that comes with the drill bit, will help anyone having issues. Now I’m just waiting for the HD version.
