We love wood! That is why we’ve committed years of research into a new product that we’re particularly proud to launch – Jax Oleum.
Whether it’s kept in its natural state or treated with colour, all wood needs to be nourished and protected.
Jax Oleum is incredibly effective and highly durable. Just 1 litre covers about 50m², and takes only one coat to colour and protect your wood against water, heat and sunlight. It is simple to apply – You just need to sand down and clean your natural wood and then apply the oil using a cloth. After a few minutes the oil will have penetrated into the upper layers of the wood and then you simply wipe away the excess. It can be used inside & outside for gum poles, window frames, flooring, doors and furniture etc. You can also use it on all veneers.
In one application you can change the colour of any absorbent natural wood product to a colour that will enhance the grain and transform the look. We have over 30 colours to choose from or you can mix existing colours to create your own. We can also match and make up other colours on request, with a minimum order quantity.
Treat your wood and increase its lifespan by applying our maintenance oil when needed.

Jax Oleum Application Instructions
- Jax Oleum can only protect, colour and nourish natural untreated wood.2. If the wood has been previously treated, remove all varnish, paint etc . and return wood to its’ natural state or as close as possible to its’ natural state.
- Sand the wood down to a final finish, a rule of thumb is the softer the wood the higher the sandpaper grit rating, i.e. pine 120-150 grit finish, oak 100 -120 grit etc.
- Clean the surface with a damp cloth & allow to dry completely.
- Shake the Jax Oleum tin VERY well to ensure the colour is evenly mixed.
With a clean cloth, apply a thin layer of the Jax Oleum over the entire surface, allow the Oleum to penetrate for a few minutes and then gently wipe away the excess. - Depending on weather conditions & temperature, you will have at least two hours to blend and overlap areas without there been a noticeable difference on the wood.
- The Oleum will be dry to the touch after approximately three hours with full cure after 7 to 10 days.
Important Note: Any further application of the Oleum will merely be a waste of product, as no further absorption will take place. If a 2nd coat is applied after the 1st coat is dry it will sit on top of the 1st coat causing a shiny, tacky finish

I was surprised to find a sample of this product in my previous order. Thank you. The sample was orange is color and was used to stain a small pine spoon. The product was very smooth and a silky appearance on the wood. I am no fan of stained wood but this product can definitely change my mind on staining wood.
