Making your own butterfly template is not that hard, but it has a lot of drawbacks. Any deviation in the template is magnified in the cut, and most materials are easily damaged by the router guide bushing making more imperfections as you use your template. This template is made from tough, thick acrylic for longevity and perfect fitting inlays.
