Extra large digital display is easy to read, even for those of us who have “mature” eyes! Display numerals are 7/16″ tall and overall the display screen is 1-9/16″ x 1/2″. Performs all the standard functions – inside, outside, depth measurement and instant conversion from imperial to metric. Plus these calipers feature a hold button that maintains the displayed measurement even if the sliding jaw moves. This allows you to take measurements in areas where reading the display is difficult or impossible and simply push the hold button, remove the calipers and read the measurement that was displayed when the hold button was engaged. If you’ve ever tried to take an accurate measurement of a table saw’s arbor through the throat opening you can appreciate the value of this function!
